This morning on Breakfast Television I talked about the six English language (because there are also Chinese ones) food delivery apps available in Montreal. In alphabetical order, that’s À la Carte Express, DoorDash, Foodora, Golo, Skip the Dishes and UberEats.
Here’s the segment:
What I didn’t get to mention was how much power consumers have right now because of the competition on the market. If you’re not happy with the service, you can switch. Not down with the packaging? Not happy with customer service when you got an order containing gluten by accident? The app companies are going to try to make you happy.
From discounts for free delivery, sign-up bonuses, monthly memberships that let you skip the delivery fees (that one’s the latest from DoorDash), you’ve got options.
And if you want more info on how little these apps are actually making and how little these restaurants are actually making, here’s my article from last spring for the Montreal Gazette.
