Food trucks are back (despite the cold weather) in Montreal and doing things a little differently this year in the hopes of making a bit more money.
I recently did a segment on Global Mornings Montreal talking about the changes you can expect this season after a lot of truck turnover in recent years thanks in part to high operation costs, waning customer interest and bureaucratic red tape.
How to Support the Montreal Food Truck Industry
If you’re not booking a truck for a private event or headed to a food truck party anytime soon, you can always go to the truck’s associated restaurants (watch the segment to learn more) where you can get expanded menus, including a body-warming Parmesan-tomato soup from Le Cheese Truck‘s casse-croûte snackbar on Monkland). Also, soon to open is the Gaspésie Food Truck‘s new restaurant kiosk in the Quartier des Spectacles in June! And the third truck that gave me samples for the show? Wineurger and their locally made sausage, all-beef burger, veggie burger and Nordic shrimp roll.
